More Inspiration from the Pacific Northwest

I love my trips to the Pacific Northwest. I’m convinced that all of the talk of rain is a rumor that the locals spread to keep people away from their own version of paradise. Sure, it looked like this as I was landing, …   but by sunset I had an awesome view of Mount Rainier from my hotel room.     When in the Seattle / Tacoma / Olympia area, I tend to eat a lot of seafood. The first night we ate at Indochine in Tacoma.   We started with spring rolls and Coconut Prawns. The spring rolls...

Inspiration from Little Rock, Arkansas

With my paying job, I travel all around the United States and get to try a lot of local restaurants. Since food is such an integral part of the novel Duck Blood Soup, I thought I would start sharing some inspirational food pictures from my visits. This weeks pictures are from a restaurant in Little Rock, Arkansas called South on Main. The food was amazing and although I avoid visiting the same restaurant twice, I can’t wait to go back.

High School Reading Assignments

My daughters were complaining about the books they have as summer reading assignments for their high school reading classes. The issue isn’t with the reading, it is the choice of books that are made available to them. Let me know if you would like to meet up for a beer while I’m there.

Got it covered?

The paperback version of Duck Blood Soup arrived yesterday for proofing. It was exciting to hold a paperback version of the book and I really liked the way the text and cover turned out, but I have to wonder if a different cover would increase our readership. Currently the eBook and the paperback version have the map of Eizenfeng and Ozeanchor on the cover. The cover is fairly unique, which may draw attention to it, but is it too different and to amateur looking? I have some ideas for a more traditional cover, but I’m not sure if they...
